Prozesse
A summary of processes
This is a collection of five projects I worked on over the past four months as part of my first year studying at Central Saint Martins. Working through briefs that focus on very different processes and technical skills: image-making, print and production, typography, coding and writing, the outcomes I am showcasing within this publication are an archive of my experimental approach to learning new skills and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. While the technical processes were at core of these projects, I directed my narratives around topics like identity, expression and problems within our society.
Being a design student in 2021 means that I am surrounded by a range of diverse resources and the ways of working often seem unlimited. It can be overwhelming to be bombarded by such a great amount of opportunities, being in constant debate asking whether to be a versatile creative thinker or a specialised practitioner.
Working together with tutors who supported me in discovering new ways of working and thinking, I believe that Iām already becoming a design student who is increasingly specialised in certain practices. Some of the ways of working I deeper explored through this Unit I enjoyed more than others, and some of these practices are likely to be part of my future.
