The Stalk
I photographed and directed ‘The Stalk’ in collaboration with fashion designer Henry Marsh, a series of nine shots featuring the designer's latest project. The garments are centred around the macabre traditions and rituals of European hunting culture in the early 20th century. Through eclectic ornamentation and the mixing of modern technicality with vintage formality, the designer has produced five garments styled as three cohesive looks.
Finding ourselves in a time where the conversation regarding the relevancy of the aristocracy and the values it represents is increasingly divisive, this shoot acts as a metaphor for the relics of upper-class traditions in English culture. Highlighting specifically the delusional self-narratives of absolutism and the fragility of the customs and traditions associated with retaining those ideations.
